You can ask your lawyer to negotiate for that, but it won't be much. They may compensate some of the loss due to the delay, but again, it won't be much. If you lawyer do not want to deal with that, s/he may refer you to another lawyer, and you have to consider the extra lawyer fee too.
Our lawyer did the negotiation for us, but he said that if the builder refused at first attempt, we would need to hire another lawyer specifically to deal with that. Wee got compensation for the extra move and storage. However, if you get a better mortgage rate due to the delay, the builder's lawyer would deduct that from the compensation.
