The Canadian Youth Chess Championship, July 3-6, 2007. As the premier chess event for Canadian boys and girls, the tournament attracts top competitors up to the age of 18 from across the country. They compete in their age categories for the right to represent Canada at the World Youth Chess Championship.
Participants in this year's Canadian Youth Chess Championships are in for a treat. The event will be held in the storied Fairmont Chateau Laurier in the heart of downtown Ottawa following the Canada Day celebrations from July 3-6.
Monday July 2nd at Ottawa's City Hall (just steps away from the Chateau Laurier), competitors will be welcomed with hospitality by Ottawa Mayor Larry O'Brien and introduced to the CYCC's Honorary Chair, GM Susan Polgar, four-time women's world champion and renowned advocate for chess for kids.
Registration will start at 4:00 PM July 2. The registration will be open 4:00- 9:00 PM.
The reception will start at 6:00 PM July 2.
