Lost my back pack on the swimming pool deck

I took my children to Kanata beaverbrook public outdoor swimming pool this afternoon. I left my back pack on the bench of the swimming pool deck. The back pack has all our changed clothing plus my wallet and keys. It was just more than an hour in the water. However, when I got out of pool, I found the back pack was missing. It is really unbelievable for these things happening. I reported it immediately to the life guards. But they appeared that they could do nothing about it. I saw someone even laughed. Should I report this case to police? It is really inconvience to re-apply all the identification cards and replace keys to vehicles and house.

I think you should report to the police. If anybody uses your ID to do something illegal, at least you have the police report to show it was stolen. Also you should report your credit card and any other card stole immediately. Learn to protect yourself. Thieves do not have marks on their face.

Shouldn't you consider changing the locks to your house too? since the thief knows where you live and have your keys.

Thanks a lot for your tips! I have created a police report yesterday.

It is a real lesson for me. I thought that Kanata was safe especially in public area during the daytime, but it is not.

我还觉得我家门口挺安全呢, 就一次没把车停到车库里, 懒了一下停车道上了, 结果第二天发现里边翻腾的乱七八糟, 丢了我的硬币钱包, 和一罐饮料. (可见不是什么大贼).

听说夏天和春假的时候小贼特多, 跟孩子们都放假了有关. 我们健身房里最近也被偷 - 就是把运动鞋放在柜子外边, 洗把脸的功夫回来就发现丢了.

贼的脸上不写字 - 这是真理啊. 我的邻居有贼? 健身房里美女如云的地方有贼? 前几天不是有个人说老人家伞丢了气得TA几乎上房骂街, 你能想象么, 老人家队伍里也有人顺手牵羊... ...

Thanks God! I had my backpack recovered. Everything is there minus cash. I bought a bunch of in-door flowers to the lady who delivered my backpack to the police station.
