请问，在Queensway Carleton Hospital 生产，如果要private room, 让不让老公和大孩子留在医院过夜？

还有，如果想给新生儿打乙肝针，是跟医院要求还是跟产科医生说？什么时候讲合适？我没有家庭医生。

Yeah, the husband can stay if it's a private room. However, they don't usually have the private room available. Most of my friends could only get the private room on the last day or so, and so did I.

However, if you could complete the labour and delivery as early as possible during the day, you have a higher chance to get the private room. If you complete the labour and delivery at nite, then the chance is low.

You can get the 乙肝针 with your paediatrician afterward, or you can tell the hospital to request for it. If you were born in China and the child has a chance to visit China, they will give the 乙肝针.

You don't need to bring your 带卫生巾, but you need to bring 小孩的diaper and wipes.

If you don't bring wipes, you have to use the hospital's cloth, which is harse on the skin.

If you were born in China and the child has a chance to visit China, they will give the 乙肝针.

I actually called the city's public health nurse about this, and they said that you must pay for your own shots for Hep B, even if you are going to visit China or that your close relatives live in China.

We went to a travel clinic for Hep B shots in Centrepointe, but you can certainly ask your baby's pediatrician to administer it.

QCH does supply diapers (Pamper's Swaddlers) but with only limited quantities. They actually wash baby's bum for diaper change so you need to bring your own wipes.

The private room at QCH is REALLY small, I wouldn't want to keep the husband let alone the older child in the hospital. The nurses at QCH are all wonderful, ask them for anything.

如果父母来自中国，乙肝针是免费的。小孩的医生可以向政府申请。我宝宝的医生才刚帮我们申请，大概两星期左右。

其他医院都提供尿片，就是Queensway近几年例外些，头两天应该是给的，但是不保证个个护士都给你。Good luck.

去年在那里住院，找护士要都是给的

尿布病房里也有一部分，用完了要就可以了。

乙肝针也给打了。和医生讲明就可以了。我和老公都有抗体，但是当时国内老人过来帮我们，是携带者，和医生说了一下，去诊所打的。

They DO, but you need to reserve early. They also have volunteers giving the tour every Friday or something, but it's really not necessary. Unlike the Civic, the maternity ward at the QCH is really plain and simple, everything is on the same floor, the whole ward is locked down. Those accompany you during delivery will be given a swipe card.

If you attend the prenatal care class, they'll talk about all these issues.
