JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of Assistant System Analyst is to analyze, implement and provide technical support to national wide area network and ERP/E-commerce systems of SanMar Canada. He/she must be committed to developing and maintaining hardware/software solutions that meet the needs of business and end users.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
• College level degree in computer science and/or MCSE 2000 certification
• Minimum 3 years of IT support experience in a corporate multi-site WAN environment
• In-depth knowledge of Windows 2003 Server and A/D environment
• Multi-platform computer experience is a plus: MS Windows, Linux (or Unix), firewall, router and switch, PBX system, etc.
• Familiarity with D3/PICK system and RHES 3.0 would be a great asset
• Understanding of SAN/NAS infrastructure will be a great asset
• Solid understanding and experiences with network security, optimization, backup/restore and DRP
• Knowledge of database and collaboration, i.e. Exchange Server, SQL Server and SharePoint, is a plus
• Experience in an ERP/supply chain environment with 24/7 operational support
• Proof of sound IT project experiences with strong project management skills
• Strong analytic skills, good general business and MIS knowledge
• Past programming experiences is a great plus
• Strong ability to perform daily work on his/her own as well as work with other team members/functions to support the strategic plan of the company/department
• Ensure the effective, efficient and secure operation of all applications and systems, great multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
• Ability to develop selection criteria and perform a business evaluation of major application
• Successful experiences working with external sources and vendors to achieve performance goal
• Energetic and passionate about IT support with premium customer service attitude
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with users with varying levels of expertise
• Excellent communication skills, fluent English in both verbal and written
• Use good listening and verbal skills to understand and accurately respond to problems or conflicts
• Good technical writing skills to prepare user manuals and knowledge base
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Work efficiently with other team members to keep current computer network and systems up and running 24/7. Provide timely technical support and preventive maintenance.
• Provide cost-effective solutions and achieve high system performance targets.
• Improve overall productivity and reduce support issues by system standardization and user training.
• Establish long-range plan for controls, policies, procedures and audits for consistent delivery of technical services, and to ensure proper security and audit functions
• Implement computer policies and procedures for system maintenance and perform maintenance in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
• Work closely with order processing and operations group to develop/maintain suitable applications to meet their needs.
• Actively involve in system and operation analysis tasks, accomplish independently first then assist IT related projects/improvements.
• Work with IT Manager and external architects to prioritize and achieve development goals and integrate those with current systems.
• Work with all Mississauga facility managers in a team effort, act as liaison between IT and operations with a customer centric attitude, communicate effectively with all user departments.
• Make decisions with the understanding of how they will affect other areas of the company.
• Build strategic vendor partnership, negotiate technical contracts and service level agreements.
• Computer reporting is also one critical responsibility of this position.
• Create and maintain up-to-date technical documentations and knowledge database.
• Occasional overtime and travel out of town required.
