I am using a Laptop in office and sometime would bring it back to work at home . But the TCP/IP configuration is different for the two location, fixed IP addresses for office ,DHCP client for home.
Windows2000 seems refuse to make a new Lan connection if I have only one network card installed. I was thinking I could enable one and disable another if I have two Lan configurations.
How can I keep both configuration and then easy to switch between the two connection type, instead of manually inputting all the IPs when I go to office?
Can I achieve it by setting up a different user?

Try go to System Properties/Hardware/Hardware Profile. You can set several different profiles. This feature was specially design for Laptops with docking stations. Not sure if that will meet your need.

thank you for your quick response and discussion.
I guess that is for differenct hardware configuration profile.
For me , hardware configuration is the same for both location.
