This is interesting. Did you try to update to DD-WRT? Does it work and how is the connectivity?

Yes, I updated my 54GL with the DD-WRT. Very solid and reliable. Much better than the original firmware it came with. More features like SpeedBooster, adjustable signal strength (28-251mW), hotspot, bridge/router mode, more security encryption options, BT/Edonkey friendly, more Qos options, ...

That's great. I did some research on the DD-WRT today. The user's feedback was very positive. But only one thing sounds ugly, the author of the DD-WRT hides the source code some how, which is against the GPL, according to some accusation. Did you, by any chance, compiled the DD-WRT by yourself. Just curious.
