He can use Off-Campus permit to work full time if he doesn't take any courses. But if he takes any course (even 1 course), the 20 hours restriction applies.
Other option can be work on this position part time if CTV can offer this option. Otherwise, he has to wait to start his work after this term. Usually, companies have the option for their new employee for the starting date.
Third option, drop all courses and work full time with Off-Campus Work permit. The academic will be delayed, but this helps to gain experience in his reference.

well, he is taking 6 courses at the moment and that's a full time position.
correct me if i am mistaken, however i believe international students only allow to work full time during summer term.

我确认过。off-campus 20小时的限制定义不是什么时候,而是你take course的状态。
"You will be entitled to work a maximum of 20 hours per week during the regular academic year and full time during Summer and scheduled SFU breaks. You can only work full-time if you do not take courses. If you register for Summer courses, you may only work for 20 hours a week."
"For students who will soon be graduating, please note that you can continue to work using your off-campus work permit (as long as you have a valid study permit and valid off-campus work permit) for a period of 90 days from the date of completion of requirements for your degree. This 90-day period is meant to coincide with the 90-day period you have in which to apply for a post-graduation work permit if you find a job related to your field of study."

这个permit的好处可以让你毕业后马上工作，是一个过渡到 Post-Grad Work permit。你可以去yorkbbs 移民咨询下。那里高手很多。不过我相信他们对于20小时限制的答案和我是一致的。我目前也是在用这个permit工作，没问题的。CU罢工。搞得我最后COMP4905的成绩没出来。PGWP要在等个几个星期吧。

括号里的都是example而已。唯一的定义是up to 20 hours per week during any academic sessions
Any academic session意思是说，即使是summer,你take course,就算做是academic session.
