New Apple iPod Touchs Now Shipping

Apple Canada announced a total revision of the iPod line and the new units are now available for purchase. Here’s a quick rundown:

iPod Nano

• Completely new smaller form factor, higher resolution display, and now plays movies.
• 4GB - Silver - $169
• 8GB - Silver, Turquoise, Green, Black, Product (Red) - $219

iPod Classic

• Slimmer than last gen iPods, higher capacity and improved battery life.
• 80GB - $279
• 160GB - $399 (Slightly thicker than the 80GB)

iPod Touch

• Has the multi-touch screen of the iPhone, but thinner, also has wireless Internet capability and the Safari browser.
• 8GB - $329
• 16GB - $449

The iPod Shuffle is also available in new colours, however no other changes were made. The iPod Touch is as close to an iPhone as we’re going to get in Canada for quite some time. It looks like it will be pretty popular as already a couple of people at the RFD HQ have ordered one.
