Halloween is one of the most expensive holidays in the North American culture. In a world where children, pets, and even i-pods can be dressed up, why should we women have any less fun?
While this holiday is known as a day for kids to live out their fantasies, it is the same for adults. This is a time to break out of your shell and be someone you could never be on a different day. Such costumes as the sultry devil, the nurse, or police officer are classics, and chances are there will be many women dressed in these outfits. But if you want an idea that’s different, funky or just plain fun, here are a few other choices.
Little Red Riding Hood
Although she is a character from a children’s tale, it seems like the Little Red Riding Hood costumes are brought to a whole new level when women put on a short coat and braid their hair in piggy tails. It’s a very easy costume to make out of clothing you already have. Just grab a red dress or a matching red top and skirt.
For the hood, grab an old red hooded sweatshirt and cut the hood off. You can probably find this kind of sweatshirt at a thrift shop. Place extra emphasis on the hood, as that is the premise of the outfit.
