about hand cream

my mother in law's hands are extremely dry in winter, my husband wants to buy a hand cream for her as present. Does anyone know which brand of hand cream is better for dry and cracked hands? thanks a lot.

Crabtree 's Gardeners Hand Therapy is pretty good.
or E. Arden's 24 hours hand cream is good as well.

but i think something really practical like vasline's problem skin therapy would be the best choice. because the texture seemed to be thick enough for winter.
