This is half correct. The Toyota is old lady's car in Japan. The Honda is more sporty and is OK. But Honda's engine is nore noisy, and the door/window's sealing is not good as well. If you buy a new car, you can't be wrong with Subaru.

With Subaru, unless you are load with money in the bank account. The gas consumption is very high. I had a legacy 06 model, 4 cyclinder, kills me with gas.

Well, I have a Honda Accord (2.3L) and a Subaru Legacy Outback (2.5L). Yes, the Outback consumes more gas as it is an AWD and the motor is a bit bigger. But the difference in gas consumption is within a resonable margin.
