Experience an old Fashioned Christmas first hand
Experience the sights and sounds of an Old Fashioned Christmas on a living history site located just 20 minutes east of downtown! Discover the traditions and celebrations during the early Depression; see how a family prepares for Christmas in a 1930’s kitchen. Delight in a horse drawn sleigh ride, and warm your senses while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate around a roaring outdoor fire. Enjoy the festive tradition of Christmas carolling! Assist children in making a Christmas ornament in a one-room schoolhouse and of course visit with Santa Claus!
We are presently seeking individuals or families to volunteer and help bring this site to life in early December. There are a host of opportunities, ranging from putting up lights and decorations to making crafts and decorating cookies, from interpreting to serving hot chocolate to playing music and greeting folks. All provide a unique and rewarding experience.
