What advantages does this system have over other similar laptops at this price point? Since it's from the Vostro small business line, it carries a professional and understated appearance and it's free of superfluous trialware or bloatware. It comes with Windows XP instead of Vista, an advantage for the portion of the market that still finds Windows Vista unpolished and problematic. This sytem, like most Vostro laptops, also come with a Mylar spill proof keyboard and 30 day no hassle return policy. Lastly, you can of course, customize the system to suit your needs. Upgrading the screen to Widescreen XGA+ or Widescreen SXGA+ for $50 or $100 respectively are upgrades we find quite worth the expense. You can also upgrade to MS Works 8.5 (Basic Spreadsheet, Word Processing & Calendar Program) for free. Upgrading the hard drive to the 120G 5400RPM SATA version for $50 could also be handy.
