The easiest value comparison for this system is probably the currently available Inspiron 530 System for $309. This Vostro 200 has essentially the same configuration, except for the extra $140, you get 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB, and the inclusion of the 19" E198WFP LCD., which is a very good value for $140. The system is worth considering if you're looking for a competent, low priced system including a monitor.

Upgrades that might be worth your while include Microsoft Works 9 (Does NOT Include MS Word) for $0 (free!), a Dell 20" E207WFP LCD for $20, or a Dell 22" E228WFP LCD for $50. This system, complete with a 22" LCD for under $500 is a handsome offer indeed.
