In order to defuse those who would be ill advised to pull pranks today, below are two famous April Fools jokes from years gone by.

• 1976 April Fool's Day Jovian-Plutonium gravitational effect: British astronomer tells listeners of the BBC that unique alignment of two planets would result in an upward gravitational pull making people lighter at precisely 9:47 a.m. He invites his audience to jump in the air and experience "a strange floating sensation." Dozens of listeners phone in to say the experiment worked.

• 1998 April Fool's Day Left Handed Whoppers: Burger king runs ad stating you could get a Whopper for left-handed people that had condiments designed to drip out of the right side. Not only did customers order the new burgers, some specifically requested the "old" right-handed burger.
