I'd be glad to see the terms of friend and friendship being cut from the Chinese diplomatic vocabulary. There is no ever-lasting friendship or friends in international affairs and no one can be a 老朋友, as such.
The term "national interests" should be added to that vocabulary though.
When we could hear they say "China's national interests" all the time, the world would listen more closely.
