Genia11 from the forums spotted a very hot deal on round trip flights to Tokyo at TourEast.com. Round trip flights including taxes and booking fees are about $784 from Toronto to Tokyo, $844 from Vancouver, and $889 from Calgary. There are one or more stops along the way but you won't get anywhere near this price for a direct flight. Here's an example fare from Toronto:

A quick search on Kayak.com for the same dates has $912 US as the lowest price but with 2 stops on the return flight. The $844 from Vancouver and $889 from Calgary prices quoted above are also for those same dates. We did a bunch of different searches with different dates and at least for the months of April and May, there seem to be many flights in this price range and some even lower than $784. Give it a try and let us know what you find in the comments.
