CBC'S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA continues to break new ground for hockey fans as the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs get underway on Wednesday, April 9 a special ethnic flavour. For the first time ever during the NHL post-season, CBC'S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA will feature Mandarin language broadcasts live and on-demand throughout each round of the playoffs, available at CBCSports.ca.

Throughout CBC'S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA coverage of the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs, one series per round will be available in Mandarin at CBCSports.ca. Jason Wang, Mandarin play-by-play voice for the 2007 Vancouver Whitecaps’ home broadcasts on webcast radio and Shaw Multicultural Channel, will call the select playoff games in Mandarin for CBCSports.ca. A resident of Vancouver, B.C., Wang was born in Taipei, Taiwan and speaks fluent Mandarin and English.
