Position 1:
Title: Shawenjeagamik Drop-In Centre Admin/Support Worker Summer Student
Duration: 16 weeks
Start Date: May 12, 2008
End Date: August 29, 2008
Language: Primary English, Aboriginal language an asset
Supervision:
Employed by the Homeless Drop In Centre under the umbrella of the Odawa Native Friendship Centre, under direct daily supervision of the Drop in Centre Manager and responsible to the policies and directions as determined by the Board of Directors of the Odawa Native Friendship Centre. Will supervise self and work in co-operation with fellow shift workers on each shift.
Purpose:
Shawenjeagamik is An Aboriginal Drop In Centre for First Nations, Inuit and Métis people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless. Shawenjeagamik provides a secure and culturally appropriate place where people can use the services and are provided with three hot meals a day.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist with the daily services offered by the Drop In Centre
Requirements:
· Currently undertaking education in the Health/ Social Service Field
Hiring will be based on the outcome of a Police Record Check

Title: Life Long Care Summer Student Assistant
Duration: 16 weeks
Start Date: May 12, 2008
End Date: August 29, 2008

Supervision:
Under the direct supervision of the Life Long Care Coordinator, the successful candidate will follow policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors
Purpose:
The Life Long Care Program responds to the life long care needs of older Aboriginal people who live with a debilitating medical condition and who may have limited mobility related to the medical condition or physical disability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Conduct annual Client Satisfaction Survey
Requirements:
· Currently undertaking education in the Health/ Social Service Field
Hiring will be based on the outcome of a Police Record Check

Duration: 16 weeks
Start Date: May 12, 2008
End Date: August 29, 2008
Language: Primary English, Aboriginal language an asset
Supervision:
Employed by the Odawa Native Friendship Centre, responsible to the policies and procedures as determined by The Board of Directors and under the direct supervision of the Executive Director or his/her designated.
Purpose:
The Dreamcatchers Youth Program (DYP) is a multi service program, which offers services for Aboriginal Youth between the ages of 11-29 years.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist with the daily services offered by Dreamcatcher Youth program
Requirements:
Hiring will be based on the outcome of a Police Record Check
