May is Asian Heritage Month​

Asian Heritage Month (AHM) provides an opportunity for all Canadians to experience many unique aspects of Asian culture and to showcase the history and contributions of Asian Canadians. In the National Capital Region, AHM 2008 opens with The 6th Gala concert on April 26 at the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Throughout May, there will be dozens of events including dance, music, films, exhibitions, literary readings, seminars, cooking demonstrations and much, much, more!
About AHM
In December 2001, the Senate of Canada adopted a motion by Senator Vivienne Poy and proclaimed May as Asian Heritage Month. In July 2004, the non-profit, all-volunteer, Ottawa Asian Heritage Month Society (OAHMS) was established to organize and co-ordinate AHM within the National Capital Region.
