I won't comment on the builders as you can find their reviews anywhere else on the forum. For elementary schools, I think it's either Jack Donohue or W. Erskine Johnston. But I recently read in the newspaper that they are building a new public school with french immersion for fall 2009 school year, at the corner of Klondike and Sandhill, that would put it right in the heart of Brookside.

Holitzner? Murifield? Monarch? Garand? or just Phoenix?

There are quite a few builders in this area: Claridge, Arshcraft, Monarch, Phoenix, Richcraft, Monarch, etc. In my opinion, Claridge, Arshcraft houses are not that great. Monarch houses designs are beautiful - I really like their Windsor (a 40' lot house) design. But now Monarch does not have big lots such as 40' lots at Brookside area. It only has 35' lots. Monarch houses at Brookside are not so close to the railway. Many Claridge houses are too close to the railway --- well some people do not care about this, but I think it is unsafe for kids.

Ooopsy, the Windsor model of Monarch is a 50'lot design. I believe Monarch only has 40' lots at Brookside area now.
