It's not news.
That is what they are trying to do. When you sue the big company like RIM, they don't like negetive publicity so they will likely to settle the case.
Reason being:
1. Big company don't like negetive publicity
2. negetive publicity cause share price to go down
3. cost less to settle that go to court (lawyers fee, bad publicity, share price went down. The most important part is the executive don't get the lions share of bonus)
I would not invest a dime in that company.
