I hate their sales tactics, so pushing. And when I said no, they appeared to be so rude. Tons of negative comments on the internet about their sales tactics.

Apart from the membership fee, direct-buy's price does include some hidden fees(e.g., handling fee). In addition, direct-buy's show room only has catalog, no floor models...

Stores like the Brick or Sears has annual promotion, sometimes you can get very good deal...

In Canada it costs $5800 plus tax. In USA it costs $4000. It is not allowed for a few people to share one except the direct dependents. However, DB does allow people to give their stuff as presents to other people.
