i know ppl have math degree work for bank or goveremnt.
and in their job they need use some application or even do some programming. but CS is sth anybody could handle so they have no problem

My boss' major is Math (BS) from U of Waterloo, and our previous VP had a Ph.d in Math. A math major (BS, MS, Ph.D) could do a lot of work, just depending on how you count.

i know ppl have math degree work for bank or goveremnt.

like what kind of jobs in the bank, what other qual/cert is needed, future career path, limitations, and short term market demand (12 to 18 months)

呵呵，CS background听上去很牛啊，有点学而优则CS的味道。 IT的同学们别砸我。

象这类基础学科专业不可能对口的，应该啥都可以找啊，比较相关的应该是计算机，统计分析； 经济类，商业类也都可以啊。

我理解数学这种基础科学应该可以应用很广泛。QUANT上的分析都需要数学基础很好的，再和一个应用学科结合起来应该可以在专业领域走的比较深。比如风险管理模型，统计模型，数据模型，还有很多投资方面的QUANT分析，都是可以做到专家级别的。
