Do it yourself is easy if the wall is in good condition

Painting is easy to do by yourself provided that the wall is in good condition. e.g. no need for sanding. Good brush and too coverings are sufficient. If sanding is involved, you can hire contract to sand the wall.

I think the price is fine. The most expensive is the labor. No matter what kind job is. Think about car fixing, tree surgeon (cut off finger size branches for half hour and charged me $400). If everyone can or will do everything by oneself, there will be no business existed. You may find someone to do the same job for paying much less money, however, you may not get the same quality work.
Don't bother whether a few houndred dollars more or less.
Nowaday, everything is expensive, one gallon paint costs $35, and 5 gallons cost almost $150. I am not a painter, although I have painted my own house by myself. You can also get one or two more painters and ask for the price, you can have better ideas before you decide to use any of them.

I was asking just to have an idea, because I don't like to have several more people to come my home to do one and another estimate.
