For those who have Self Direct RRSP account in the bank:

Today, I am happy to get my yearly fee waived by arguing with the Bank. Usually they will charge you yearly fee if your balance doesn't meet their requirement.

But there is discussion room for this fee. If you persist and use appropriate way, you can get this money back.

1) Write/Speak with polite attitude.
2) List the facts.
3) Mention how much money you are in, and how much MORE you will put in.
4) Talk to superviser if normal operator won't give you fee back.
5) Last thing to threat leaving if your request can't be met.

I got $107 refund from the broker this week.
