It's like Turkey to the locals, you know you are supposed to eat it every Thanksgiving and Christmas, it tastes soso, and year after year, nothing new, but still it's labelled as the tradition, and you feel at loss if you don't have the turkey through the holiday season, though honestly you don't enjoy the turkey at all.
Mooncake brings us more mental comfort, then physical ones. Its high calorie level would have stopped me right there, but the thought of seeing a box of mooncake along with a pot of tea on the evening of the mid autumn festival makes me bring out my wallet.
BTW, it tastes a lot better than turkey.
