I sent my car to Canadian Tire to fix the wheel vibration this Wednesday. Canadian Tire charged me $206 for alignment and balancing. However, the next day I found the vibration was still there. Today (Friday) I went back to Canadian Tire, and they said that three of the four tires have hops and need 4 new tires.

Does anyone know what is a tire hop? Those tires are almost 3 years old, and are the ones from the new car. Is it possible the hops were caused by the alignment and balancing on Wednesday?

Thanks,
Max

很明显,你被它们骗了。canadian tire一贯的伎俩

it was your own mistake

You should always ask them to ckeck out first what problem it is to cause the vibration before you are asking them what to do. If you just tell them do wheel alignment and balance, they simple do it as you are asking for without checking. As you know wheel alignment is very costly, because only specific technician can do it with specific appointment. They have to drive your car on the highway and take time, although they can quickly realize what the problem is.
The vibration is typically caused by the broken circumference wires inside the tires, I guess that what they called "hops (definition from dictionary: 1.to make a short, bouncing leap; move by leaping with all feet off the ground. 2.to spring or leap on one foot. )". It is time to change your tires. If you just asked them to check the problem in this case, you might only need to pay $30 to $50 dollars instead of $206. Good luck!
