急！！关于回国办理往返签证的问题

我已经工作满一年了，9月就可以递移民了。我打算10月1日回国一个月。
8月30号考雅思，要用到护照。所以担心一个月内寄护照去Buffalo来不及，想回上海使馆办。
我以前学生的时候回国办过，不知道现在工作，需要什么材料证明。要多久呢。
老板开证明应该是没有问题的，就不知道要开怎样的证明 保签证呢
请教回国办理过的高手们

办 re-entry 需要寄护照的,领事馆的网站上不建议买机票.1个月的时间,也可能办得下来,也可能办不下来
