One tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor Rank.
The Aerospace Department at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is seeking qualified applicants for a maintenance management tenure-track assistant/ associate professor faculty position (No.101030) beginning August 1, 2009. Responsibilities include (a) teaching a variety of courses in the maintenance program,; conducting ongoing scholarly research leading to publication in area of expertise; (c) developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with the aviation industry; and (d) advising students. Excellence in teaching, a record of scholarly publications and research activity, as well as service, is expected to achieve tenure and promotion. The department is particularly interested in appointing an individual who will enhance our efforts to address ethnic and cultural diversity issues as well as our efforts to build collaborative relationships with industry.
Minimum requirement include a Master's degree in the field of Aerospace, Aerospace Engineering or related field; terminal degree in Aerospace, Aerospace Engineering or related field required for tenure. Airframe and Power plant certification and Inspection Authorization will be required for appointment. Terminal degree in Aerospace, Aerospace Engineering or related field preferred as well as a background in civil aviation and prior teaching experience.
