新房子closing，对方律师要代收本年的地税（Land Tax）一千多块，是不是正常的？说是等账单来了，去找律师，律师会找到对方的律师去要回来？ ...

Lawyer does this? My bank does this for me. Ask your lawyer if you can pay it by yourself. It may not be a good thing. When I signed the agreement with my bank, I did not see it and had to pay. I am not sure about the advantages and disadvantages. They claim to do this like an insurance. I think they may get some interest.

Property tax or land transfer tax?

Property tax on a new house ? ... ... weird.

If it is land trasnfer tax, it makes sense.

It's called 2008 Land tax en bloc, not land transfer tax. It's portion of property tax

The laywer should divide the tax between pre-owner(or builder) and you (according to the days who owner it)
