BE interactive
Joe Satriani has filed a lawsuit against Coldplay for stealing his song.
The guitar legend, Joe Satriani, has filed documents in a Los Angeles court because he believes that Coldplay used his song without permission.
Satriani claims that the Coldplay song, Viva La Vida was taken from his 2004 song, If I Could Fly.
If the case goes before a jury, and Coldplay is found guilty of plagiarism, Satriani could get his hands on a lot of money. The album and song from Coldplay are both best sellers, along with being important parts of Apple's iTunes ad campaign.
Lawyers must prove that Coldplay had heard the Joe Satriani song before they wrote Viva La Vida.
