Post-Doctoral Research Fellow -- (1)
A Post-Doctoral Research Fellow position is open in Guelph Food Research Program, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. The mission of this research is to develop effective and economical separation process and technology to extract health-promoting components from natural materials for functional food production, particularly to convert some waste by-products into high-value functional foods by supercritical-CO2 fluid technology. The incumbent (1) characterizes processed and separated agri-material to identify chemical constitutes that have value-added functionality; and (2) conducts basic study in mass transfer phenomena leading to better understanding of factors influencing the effects of specific constitutes, their interaction, and processing parameters on end-product quality. This will involve chemical and biochemical analysis of bioactive components, modelling of mass transfer phenomena, development of new processes and technologies. Candidates should have Ph. D. degree with chemical engineering or food engineering background. Working experience in supercritical-CO2 fluid technology is desired. The applicants must go to the following NSERC WEB site to apply to the Visiting Fellowship Program in Federal Government
Laboratories:
http://www.nserc.ca/forms/formtable_e.htm
Salary is $39,805.00 per year. For more information contact: Dr. John Shi, e-mail: shij@agr.gc.ca Food Research Program, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Guelph, Ontario, N1G 5C9, Canada
