Refund for December Transit Passes

The City of Ottawa will start issuing refunds today for commuters wanting money back from their December transit passes and Park & Ride permits.
Transit users can present their transit pass to Client Service Centres at City Hall, Kanata, Orleans and Ben Franklin Place for a refund equal to the value of the lost transit service because of the OC Transpo strike.
The city says with significant discounts available at the end of the strike, transit riders are being encouraged to retain their transit passes and Park & Ride permits for December.

The City of Ottawa has rolled out a list of new measures to help commuters deal with the OC Transpo strike.
On-street parking meter rates will be reduced to $2.50 an hour from $3 during the dispute.
On-street residential, consideration and visitor parking permits will be reduced by 50 per cent.
By January 23rd, municipal parking lots will offer discounts of $1 per passenger to vehicles with three or more occupants.
New carpool destination signs will be placed at Place d'Orleans, Fallowfield, Greenboro, and Eagleson Park & Ride lots.
City Council will not open the Transitway to vehicular traffic during the OC Transpo strike.
