CAA is useful if you have 2 of three following reasons:
1) You are a frequent traveller. You may get a lot of free map from CAA
2) You are using old car which usually have problem like "Can't Start" "Rest on the Road". CAA menbership will give you 3-6 times free handle and drag service.
3) If you prefer using "Traveler's Check". CAA menber can have free Traveler's Check.
The annual membership is very expensive.
I still have a lot of maps.

Trip Planning Services and Full Service Travel Agency
CAA Plus Membership dues are $101.01 per year for new Members to the Club.

Enhanced locksmith services up to $100.00
Up to $500.00 trip accident assistance
Additional extrication service
No-charge emergency fuel delivery
Trip/Travel Accident Insurance up to $500,000
