What Len should I buy to take Hockey game?

Hi,

I have Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT 8.0MP SLR Digital Camera. What len should I buy to take Hockey game picture under $300? I am a junior bird.

you need F2.8 lense with VR... zoom would be your choice. if you want to take really dynamic movement photos. ISO 800... you can get 1/300 sec.

CANON should be IS, NIKKON has VR.

If F<2.8...iso SHOULD BE SET AT LEAST 800. F4.0 may waste you time.

if you get 70-200/2.8IS, get something with ISO3200, I felt a bit short with my ISO1600 (lots of noise, sometimes)

快门到1/300秒70~200也不用is了...f2.8是必须的

楼上说的对，至少F2.8，有F2的快速镜头更好
拍体育要求较高的快门速度，IS、VR用处不是很大
没去过Hockey的场地，或许85/1.8比50/1.8更适合
拍足球比赛最便宜的可以用135/2.8
当然这些场合F2.8变焦镜会比较方便，但是考虑到价格，就不推荐了

Thanks for everyone. I am trying to take pictures for my son. His team is invited to play show games before OHL or NHL game sometimes. I can stay at the first line at that time.

For me , taking picture , just press buttton and never change any default settings.
