Fireplace pilot question?

Shall I keep the fireplace pilot on
A) all winter season.
B) all year around
C) doesn't matter, I can light it on everytime when I use it.

What's the potential issue if I choose C) above?

I assume that you mean a gas fireplace.
If you use it all winter, then A), shut it off in spring.
Make sure that you have a manual and know how to follow the steps to light it

I will give you the different answer:
B) that's what the answer I got from inspector and electrician.

you will wast gas, but the gas fireplace keeps working condition.
And you should buy a carboDetector.

Pilot设计的目的是为了方便fireplace的开关，所以，如果你长时间不用fireplace，不管是冬天或夏天，都可以或者说应该关上pilot，这不会有任何负面影响，相反会延长使用寿命。
