I found out this morning that my furnace wasn't working. It is LENNOX, about 10 years old.
I suspect the pilot light was off due to the strong wind yesterday. Is it right? How to start the pilot light?
thank you

Many 10 years old furnace don't use pilot light. Are you sure your furnace has a pilot light. Try to find the operating manual, go to lennox website you should be able to find the document.

thank you for the kind reply. Do you know where the furnace exhaust is? Inside or outside?
You can see how it looks like from the outside.
On a Lennox furnace, it is right on top of it. The exhaust piple is black in colour... going up toward the ceiling and leading to the outside of your house, where you can see the exhaust smoke when the furnace is on.
What Timothy's suggested could be correct. The warmer temperature in the afternoon helped melt the ice blocking the exhaust pipe outside of the house.
There's no way it will block as the temperature is quite good these few days. There' no snow/ice on the roofs at all.
Mostly as per CCC said
Try to take off the tube to the ventilation fan and let the air out. The valve might be shut.
If you open the furance door, you will see a blower about 6" in dia, there's a small plastic tube attached to it. If you find it, remove the tube to clean it and make sure there's no dirt as it will puck the tube and turn the safety switch off.
