Cathedral Arts Presents a Multi-Disciplinary Youth Performance Showcase
Cathedral Arts is delighted to present its first multi-disciplinary Youth Concert on April 25 at 2pm at Christ Church Cathedral (420 Sparks Street at Bronson). This concert is part of Cathedral Arts’ annual concert and lecture series and celebrates exceptional young performers who live or study in the Ottawa region. Dance, theatre arts, and music will all be featured, with selections from the classical, popular, and native Canadian traditions, as well as work created by the performers themselves.
The programme will showcase up-and-coming young artists Nathan Haller (tenor), Lara Deutsch (flute), and Jacob Armstrong (saxophone), as well as the brother and sister duo, Bryan and Silvie Cheng (cello and piano).
Featured ensembles include the Dandelion Dance Company, whose young members choreograph their own pieces; the Principal’s Players, a theatre group with a Shakespearean focus from Canterbury High School; and students from the Nunavut Sivuniksavut Training College program, who will perform traditional Inuit throat-singing and drumming.
This diverse and exciting presentation offers a wonderful opportunity to see some of Ottawa’s most promising young performers and a rare chance for Ottawa audiences to hear the remarkable art of throat-singing!
Tickets are available from the Cathedral Arts Box Office (Lower Lobby, Christ Church Cathedral, 420 Sparks Street) or at the door.
