Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·Develop components, primarily in Java, of carrier-grade Element and Network Management system software that delivers FCAPS solutions for network service providers.
·Responsible for the entire software lifecycle from requirements through design, coding, unit testing, feature testing, and interfacing with our product verification teams, product managers, and possibly directly with customers.
Qualifications:
SKILLS
·Capable of handling aspects of complex software development and support in large scale, distributed, Linux/Unix/NT-based computing environments including requirements definition, design, coding, and testing production releases.
·Able to work independently and with a team of other developers
·Understanding of all aspects of the software development cycle: design, coding, testing, maintenance
·Experience with Object Oriented design concepts
·Programming experience in Java
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
·Self starter
·Candidates must be creative and have strong communication skills
·Ability to work with little supervision
·Enjoys working in a rapidly changing environment
·Excellent documentation and communication skills
EDUCATION and/or RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
·Computer Science or Engineering degree, or equivalent.
·Experience with a variety of the following would be an asset, but is not strictly required:
Software Technologies:
·Java
·Java RMI and/or CORBA
·Ant
·JUnit
·Python and/or Ruby
·Object oriented design and data structures
