We would like to build a deck. Does anyone know who/which company would just do the hole digging? How much would it cost for a hole, we might need about 10-12 deck posts.

Thanks in advance.

Google Perfect Post Holes and find one near you.

how big is the deck? 10-12 posts seems to be a lot. I only have two posts for my 12ft x14ft deck.

iiWii, how could you need only two posts for 12 x 14 deck? Don't you need at least 4 for the 4 corners (for rectangle deck)? We're thinking of 12 x 16 but not rectangle.

I don't know if you have considered Dek-Block. I built a 12 x16 deck with 8 Dek-Block stones last year. 2 beams with 4 stone each. I just inspected my deck today, don't see any shift. The deck is still as good as it was just built. My house is a new house closed in 2007, and the grade was done in the fall that year.

My first deck was build with cement posts into the ground. Watching my friend's deck built with Dek-Block stones didn't have any problem after 5 years, I decide to give it a try. So far so good.

Our deck would be too high (more than 2 ft) to use deck blocks. Thank you for your suggestion.

My friend's deck was at least 30" to 36" high if not more. I don't think the height matters unless the deck is much higher. You just put the 4x4 posts on the deck block instead of cement it into the ground.

The point is if your deck doesn't attach to your house, then you can use deck blocks. otherwise, no.

The two post supports two pieces 2x10 14 ft long(stapled together) as the main beam. all the other 12 feet 2x8 12 ft running on top and cross this main beam, the other end of these cross members attached to the wall with a 2x8 and joist hangers. This deck was built by the builder together with the house and passed the inspection.
