自动离职和fired是不能拿到EI的。

自动离职是99.99%(应该是100%)不具备领EI的资格; 0.01%的可能是(在小公司)老板帮个忙.
被fired的, 95%是和Layoff一样可以领EI的, 唯一的区别是公司填写辞退原因时不同. 只有极少数被fired的人没有资格领EI, 比如给公司造成重大经济损失, 有违法行为...

According to the change of EI claims, at least, you are eligiable to claim and have it. One of my friends just received the EI after quiting the job. However, you have to interview with Government HR people before you receive it.
