June 13, 2009 - Annual International Day of the Child Benefit Concert

Maria Knapik is a well known soprano in town. Every year, she organizes fund raising concerts for various organizations. On Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 7:30PM "Maria Knapik and Friends" and the Ottawa Classical Choir will host our annual International Day of the Child Benefit Concert at Dominion-Chalmers United Church, 355 Cooper Street, Ottawa. With your help, we hope that we can raise money for the following organizations:


CHEO Foundation
Dom Swiatelko (Light Home) for Abandoned and Orphaned Children
Food First Foundation-Northwest Territories

The concert programme includes:
The Ottawa Classical Choir will be joined by New World Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, Les Chanteurs de Sainte Therese and Choeur Tremblant, with Maria Knapik, soprano and Marc Boucher, Baritone, under the direction of Maestro Michel Brousseau to perform:

Gabriel Faure's Requiem
World Premiere of the Messe de la Delivrance by Theodore Dubois

and we have the following special guests:
Stanley (cello) and Kerson (violin) Leong
Bel Canto Children's choir

Ticket costs: Reserved Seating $40, General Admission $20, Senior/Student $15. Children 12 and under free admission.
