Hi
I can understand that it is a difficult thing to review and judge the content of every advertiser's message.
However, let's look at it this way:
If I had a commercial advertising "Buy Made in China" and throw out "Poorly and Cheaply made in Canada" because made in Canada is
- Overpriced for high marginal revenue
- Cheaply made and inspected due to high labour costs
- And TOYING with Canadian's patriotism to buy a sub-par product
and Made in China is
- Quality inspected before export
- Higher Quality and cheaper cost
- Promotes healthy international trade bonds
Would you be offended? I think your radio listeners would complain to you until your mailbox explodes.
Thank you very much for raising this concern to the Orme's Furniture advertising team. Please let them know that this issue will be raised in the Ottawa Chinese community as well as the embassy.

Good afternoon,
I would like to thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinions with me. Here is my challenge. It would be extremely problematic if we started judging the content of every advertiser's message based on our personal values and experiences. Making that kind of judgment call could prove to be the “thin edge of the wedge” since someone would undoubtedly disagree with messages, claims or offers being made in most commercials on most radio stations.
We feel the only time we as broadcasters have the right to veto an advertiser's commercial message is if the message is illegal...immoral...or offensive. In our minds the Ormes Furniture commercial does not cross any of those lines.
I will forward your note on to those responsible for Ormes Furniture’s advertising purchasing for future discussion.

Hello
I'm thoroughly disappointed on how Magic 100 production team allowing the Orme's Furniture commercial to play over and over on air.
That commercial is discriminating towards the Chinese community, especially against "Made in China".
Something needs to be done about it immediately. If that sort of attack can be used directly in your audio, I would like to pay for prime time commercial on reasons why people should buy "made in china" and not "made in canada".
