I recommand everyone should have a try even if you are not trying to find a car to buy right now. Actually, I checked my own car and found out that a recall was issued on my car on 01/27/2003. I contacted the dealer immediately and have it fixed this afternoon around 5 o'clock.
Why don't you have a try? It doesn't cost you a penny and save you $$$!

There are some defects which are known to the manufactor upon certain types or certain units of cars. Usually the manufactor has to pay a huge amount of money for the defect in the design or manufactory. In order to avoid such, the manufactor usually issue a recall to fix those problems! Usually, you pay nothing for those since they are the defects during design and manufactory.

Generally speaking, no car is perfect! Never dream a car is flawless!
This link will give you some idea. For example, Neon are known for its gasket, which will causes the engine oil leakage. Only those Noen after 1998 are free of this problem.

There is no link in the left, they probably changed the page, what you have is the old one, which is in your cache. Could you please provide the direct link of the car check? Maybe it is too late.
