Kaplan Careers (now http://www.brassring.ca) hosts technical career fairs throughout Canada on a periodic basis. You can subscribe to their High-Tech Career journal, which lists company news and job openings in IT industry. Here is the upcoming technical career fair in Ottawa:
Ottawa Congress Centre
55 Colonel By Drive
Ottawa, ON
Apr 23 - 4-7pm, Apr 24 - 11am - 2pm & 4-7pm
These career fairs are intended for professionals with at least 2 years experience, but new grads, try it out anyway, I found my first there. However there used to be hundreds of job openings, but there are very few now, none so far for the upcoming Ottawa technical fair, but come back to their website later. Your best shot at getting a job is networking, meeting more people, getting more exposure, and hoping that the economy will eventually pick up its pace. Good luck!
