Anne的问题提的真的很好。这里讨论了许多中国人这个，中国人那个，似乎中国人都是TMD的人渣，都是特守法又不听话的某种动物。

北美是自由的世界，自由的市场经济，自由的政治、宗教、学术。只要是你高兴去做的，做了会使你自己满意，你就可以去做。而做的时候，有看不见的手和看得见得独立司法、警察、理发来约束你的行为。足够了。

法律是准绳，只要你不被这条绳子捆住，你干什么都可以。

法律的建立就是为了让人们去违反的。

What a logic! Go on, the police, court, and jail are set up to catch the person who violates the law (违法). I assume that you don't want to experience a Canadian jail. You'd better follow the law, so you can sleep well when a police knock your door.

宇宙的本质就是混乱，规矩总是存在，人也会自然想要逾越。一切遵循章法，世界只会一成不变，想做就去做，不管是不是中国人，或者在世界的哪个角落，人生是自己的，守不守法是自己的选择就行了，谁也别看不起谁，谁也别教训谁。

记得刚来的时候，因为什么事和一个本地人讨论，我疑惑地问，是不是合法，他立即回答，that is not your business. 后来工作，开会讨论方案的时候，也被老板好几次说了，that is not your business. 所以时常激励自己，努力向前走，不要束缚了手脚。

Just afraid when you make a wrong choice, it is too late to make a correction. You have to understand that sometimes, for something you are not able to make a choice by yourself. So don't fall into such a situation.

That is a different area. Whether or not the business is illegal is certainly not your business, it is your boss or the president of the company's business. If you keep asking such a stupid question to your boss, it seems you suspect your boss' ability.
However, with regards to yoour personal affairs, whether or not following the laws is your own business. Nobody can help you if you make a wrong choice.

Logical logic! That is why they put speed limit on the high way. It reminds you that you are too slow and have not reach that speed. You break the law when you drive with 110km/hour speed on 100km/hour limit road. But the police won't catch you and put you into jail. Why? How lucky you are!

The law reminds you that there are something you have not done. Of course it's up to you to do or not to do.

Remember there is BIG difference between "criminal" and "law breaking".

问题在于，如果是违法的，我又是执行者，那么吃官司的是我，不是公司或者老板。因为她们只要说，是我自己做的决定，和公司无关，“事实上”公司不知道。那我就死定了。所以我一定要问，必要时，和公司的律师讨论。之所以这么做，也是为了保护自己。问了几次之后，老板也就不再要求我做什么不合适的事情了。更有趣的是，公司的律师要我不要单独和老板讨论工作，一定要有第三人在场，将来可以做个人证。当我问及，老板会不高兴怎么办，律师说，你自己决定，吃官司，还是得罪老板。很显然，宁肯得罪老板，不可以吃官司的。得罪老板最多不干。吃了官司，没人会再雇佣你的。

知道为什么这么多中国人出国而不愿待在国内吗，因为那里没有法。
换个角度想守法这个问题，法律大多时候保护你的利益不受侵犯。
