Roger's digital cable TV service

I have an analog cabe TV with Rogers. These days I have got two calls from Rogers (they claimed they were from Rogers promotion department). They said they would promote my service to digital cable TV service with a free digital box.
It includes:

• a free digital box
• free promotion to the digital TV for the first year
• starting from the 2nd year, I just need to pay $2.99 / month for the service
• No contract. The service can be cancelled at any time. With the cancellation, I can keep the digital box.
• ... ...

I was thinking this was too good to be true. So I did not take it right away.

Have you anyone also got the similar call?
Was it I got it wrong or something unbeliverable happening from Rogers?
I suspect a trap there.

It's not a trap. I got a free digital box for a year.

Me too, but after the term, I've been paying more than $100 a month just cable HDTV alone......I have VIP Cable (which allows me to have chinese channels) + HDTV + Oasis combo.

I'm with their bundle package for everything else (home phone/cell phones/ Internet/Cable HDTV) and got 15% discount. The consolidated billing comes in handy, but still, I think its quite pricy...you don't want to know how much is my Rogers bills per month.....

Too bad, I had bad experience with Bell before, and there are just not enough choices for this kinda of telecommunication services in Canada.

I got it for a year too. Rogers often giving some more free channels on digital service. I also posted some on CFC for this topic.
