快捷: West uni and Bank wire transfer, but fees high.
手续费不高: ~ $5 to buy a money order from any Bank, but need mail it to China by yourself and must wait more than 10 days to be cashed after deposit in a China Bank.
I did it times, never lost. I used Xpresspost or register mail at Post Office . Both price are similar, so I prefer to take the first one, it quicker than the second one too. For safety reason, both of them required a receiver's signature.
Plus, Canadian Post will give you a tracking number, by this number and go to Canadian Post Website, you can track the mail and know where it is on time!
When you use a 'money order', you get or deposit (earn interest too) CAN$ or US$ in China Bank, not Chinese Yuan. So, you can watch the transfer ratio -- at a high time, transfer it into Chinese Yuan.
Yes, 谁也不知道汇率的波动. 西联汇款 can give you Chinese Yuan in China, right? They could charge a #% of your amount too. If next day 汇率 go up, do you regret? For the 汇率, 担心 is same but fees up. So, I would not like to take West Uni. Only if in urgent need money, it is a good way to go.
One more benefit to use money order for some Chinese people who want CAN$ or US$. (Of course, if they want it in Chinese Yuan, just transfer it in China Bank.)
